Thank you for your interest in the Community Cabinet! This is what you can make happen with a
grant of $1,000, $10,000 or more:
As of March 2011, our current funding priorities are:
1. Purchase of hygiene products such as toilet paper, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. to be
provided to people in need in our community. Purchase of cold weather accessories such as gloves,
hats, undergarments, socks, and other clothing, as well has lip balm and protective sunscreen.
2. We are in need of funds to cover office supplies & equipment, phone, storage facilities, and
donation transportation costs.
3. Provide for the staffing of a book keeper, grant writer, and office person.

•
The Community Cabinet is a spiritually based non-profit corporation organized solely for
the purpose of supplying hygiene products and basic provisions to people in need.
•
Since 1998, our mission has been to meet the basic needs of people by supplying
products that are not covered under Food Stamps or other public assistance programs.
Our purpose in providing these products is to increase self-esteem, promote better
health and open doors toward a more purposeful life.
•
The Community Cabinet operates year-round to collect and receive product donations
from caring people, businesses and organizations in our community. The products are
then sorted and redistributed to over 30 agencies in the Truckee Meadows area whose
constituants are the underserved, as well as to homeless, jobless outreaches, AIDS
patients, dialysis patients, amputees and other less fortunate people in our community.
•
Every year, we assist hundreds of adults and children by providing such basic products
as toilet paper, soap, toothpaste, shampoo, lotion and deodorant, all of which cannot be
purchased with food stamps. The Community Cabinet is a one-hundred-percent
volunteer agency with a committed volunteer staff and board of directors who are
dedicated to helping the less fortunate people of our community.
